The CITES Management Authority of the USA recently announced that they are aware of an issue with malfunctioning locking devices on the tags used for the American alligator skin.
Any malfunctioning tags identified prior to export will be replaced with new tags. The United States has temporarily authorized the use of replacement tags for alligator skin tags with a malfunctioning locking device.
