Designers were on their way to the American West for the Fall collections. They had their cowboy hats, Canadian tuxedos and fringe vests packed and ready. Although something happened and they took an unexpected detour.
This time, to Rodeo Drive.
Throwing away their traditional cowboy boots and storing their basic Levi’s and jean jackets, they confirmed that we won’t be needing these next season. Instead, they urged their customer to upgrade their Western wardrobe with elevated pops of python, wild alligator and hair-on cowhide.

DsQuared2 and Vanessa Seward showed literal odes to the American West infusing hair-on cowhides in both ready-to-wear and shoes. Isabel Marant showed cozy knits paired with python pants. Rochas, Zimmermann and Saint Laurent opted for an elegant cowboy boot using python instead of leather. Even more luxe was Fendi’s alligator cowboy boot. So, invest in the west this season because you can’t be too sure where your detours might take you.
