Alligator Skins
Alligator skins have long been the most prestigious of the exotic skins. Known for their range of size and their clean scales, alligator skins can be used for anything from small leather goods to furniture, although they are most commonly found on belts, handbags and watchstraps.
Anaconda Skins
As the State of California does not permit the trade of products made from python skins, anaconda skins were commercialized to fill the gap. However, the fuller body and the larger scale pattern of the anaconda skins, relative to python skins, have generated a market for them in their own right. Now, anaconda skins are commonly used for handbags as well as men's belts and small leather goods.
Caiman Skins
Caiman skins have been widely touted in the handbag sections of department stores and on cowboy boots in Western wear stores. The bellies, hornbacks, flanks and tails of caiman skins are all available on the market for a variety of uses.
Nile Lizard Skins
These African lizard skins are bigger than most other lizard skins making them ideal for clutches and evening bags.
Ostrich Skins
The large quills of the ostrich skin offer a very unique aesthetic that is popular for Western wear as well as luxury accessories, like belts, handbags and wallets.
Python Skins
Python skins have recently emerged as one of the fashion world's favorite canvases. They offer a unique versatility in that python skins are available with or without the large scales down the center of the belly and with or without their beautiful natural markings. Like caiman skins, they are most commonly used for handbags and cowboy boots, but are also frequently used for upholstery.
Ring Lizard Skins
These lizard skins are slightly smaller than the Nile lizard skins but they offer more versatility. Ring lizard skins are available with or without their natural ring-shaped markings and they are typically offered in back cut, flaunting the smaller belly scales. Like Nile lizard skins, they are most commonly used in small women's handbags.
Stingray Skins
Stingray skins offer a very unique, modern look with a white stripe down the center of the skin. Stingray skins are used for everything from small handbags and small accessories to cowboy boots and furniture.
